Cold front to affect Greece from Tuesday to Thursday
The cold front will bring a significant drop in temperatures and frost in the north of the Greek mainland. Rain and snow is expected to fall even in areas with low altitude.
On Tuesday, rain will fall in the western and northern areas of Greece and snow will fall during the night in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Macedonia and Thrace. By Wednesday morning, snow will start falling in areas with low altitudes in Macedonia while rainfall is expected in Thessaly, in eastern central Greece, in the Peloponnese, the Cyclades islands and Evia.
Scattered showers are expected on Wednesday, mostly in Thessaly and eastern central Greece, the Peloponnese and on Crete but will gradually subside. There is also a forecast for strong winds reaching up to 8 on the Beaufort scale on Tuesday and Wednesday.
