Pavlopoulos stresses Greece’s support for Cyprus and its President Anastasiades
Greece’s support for the Republic of Cyprus and its President Nicos Anastasiades is firm and timeless, the Greek President of the Republic, Prokopios Pavlopoulos, said on Wednesday during his meeting with Anastasiades.
Pavlopoulos underlined that the Cyprus problem is not a bilateral issue but a European and international issue and its solution must meet all the requirements of the European acquis. In this context, he reiterated his position on a federal state and stressed that no occupation troops and guarantors can be made acceptable. He pointed out that Turkey will have to refer to Europe when discussing the Cyprus issue and that we will not tolerate violations of the Cyprus EEZ, while reiterating that Turkey is bound by the law of the sea.
