Temporary jobs spots in public sector for young, unemployed degree-holders
Greece’s Manpower Employment Agency (OAED) is expected to unveil a tender for the temporary hiring of 5,500 unemployed degree holders in the public sector in the coming period, with general elections now less than a year away.
Eligible candidates must be between the ages of 22 and 29. The new job spots will be in ministries and affiliated agencies, and last for one year. Remuneration will range from 990 to 1,040 euros, with certain additional bonuses envisioned for post-grade degrees.
More hirings, albeit in the state sector and on a temporary basis, has been one of the initiatives pushed forward by the poll-trailing Tsipras coalition government, ostensibly to overturn a “brain drain” in the country over the crisis years.
