The Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) said that sanctions were harsh, with fines of up to 1.0 pct of annual turnover and not less than 10,000 euros envisaged for those breaching market regulation. In the case that an enterprise is fined for the same reason in five years, the fine is raised to 3.0 pct of annual turnover.
ESEE said that starting from January 1, 2017, all enterprises will be gradually obliged to accept electronic means of payment and urged its members to offer full and clear information to consumers.
