Large blaze breaks out in Gythio supermarket

Firefighters in the town of Gythio in the southeastern Peloponnese on Tuesday were struggling to contain a large fire at a supermarket.

The blaze in the Ermou Street store started in the basement area, where the business keeps flammable material and refrigerators.

Thirty firefighters with 10 trucks were battling to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
