Skourletis rules out the possibility of a fourth bailout program
Interior Minister Panagiotis Skourletis underlined the government’s intention to carry on supporting the more vulnerable classes, provided the country’s growth prospects are not curbed by the unreasonable demands of the country’s creditors.
In his interview for the Kokkino 105.5 radio station, the Minister of Interior explained that it is critical to improve the daily life of the people, where all government policies are judged. Mr. Skourletis further noted that the achievement of goals is reflected in the real economy and daily life with a time delay.
As he underlined, the Prime Minister’s recent proclamations will have real effect and are indicative of how the government approaches the realization of targets. The aim, he further elaborated, is not just to see numbers proposed, but to give back to those who have made sacrifices and the vulnerable.
Later on the Interior Minister ruled out the possibility of a forth bailout, claiming that if there was such a prospect then the government would have already signed it. Mr. Shourletis explained that the government is convinced that the solution is not a recycling of the recessionary policy.
In concluding his interview, the Minister stressed that Greek government will not give in to unattainable targets, such as 3.5% primary surplus rates for the long term.
