Fire causes damage, fuels upheaval at Nea Kavala migrant center
A fire broke out at a reception center for migrants in Nea Kavala, Kilkis, in northern Greece, on Monday morning, causing damage but no injuries and fuelling upheaval on the premises.
According to sources, the fire broke out in an area of the facility which was being used as a makeshift school for young refugees.
The blaze destroyed a wooden structure as well as three tents and other infrastructure.
The local fire service was looking into the cause of the blaze which broke out at around 6 a.m.
