Greece takes delivery of 3 Chinooks from US
Greece has received three Chinook helicopters as part of a deal struck with the US in the spring of 2015 for the delivery of a total of 15.
The parts of the choppers arrived Friday from the US to Piraeus port on the Endurance ship, owned by American company ARC.
The Chinooks will be assembled at the port before they are dispatched to their destined units.
The Chinook is an American twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter.
Its primary roles are troop movement, artillery placement and battlefield resupply.
