Papadimoulis: Trump victory a ‘negative development’ for democracy, stability
SYRIZA MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis has reacted to Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential vote describing it as a “negative development” for democracy.
“Trump’s victory is a negative shock, [it is] a major negative development for democracy and stability across the globe,” Papadimoulis told Praktorio 104.9 FM on Wednesday, adding however that the result could prompt Europe’s democratic forces into action.
“The painful shock from Trump’s victory could be a wake-up call for a broad antifascist, democratic front across the world,” the leftist politician said.
