Appeal of Korkoneas to be examined by the courts on 30 November
The appeal of Epaminondas Korkoneas for the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos has been adjourned for the 30th of November, following many delays.
A request by the civil prosecution to postpone the trial since many instrumental witness could not attend the court was rejected, however the court adjourned for the 30th of November.
Former police officer Korkoneas was initially sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 15-year-old Alexandros Grigoropoulos during a patrol in the downtown area of Exarchia in 2008. His partner Vasilis Saraliotis was initially sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for his involvement in the murder, but was released on bail in 2012.
