ECB lowers ELA cap for Greek banks

The European Central Bank agreed to lower the emergency liquidity assistance (ELA) ceiling for Greek banks from 51.8 to 51.1 billion euros on Wednesday, the Bank of Greece announced in a statement on Thursday. The order was valid through November 16.
The move reflected an improvement of the liquidity situation of Greek banks, the lender said.
