Samos: Hot spot at ‘busting point’ with 2,126 asylum seekers
Conditions at the hot spot on the island of Samos are becoming increasingly tough as there are currently 2,126 migrants and refugees accommodated there, when the facility was designed to house 850.
In the past 24 hours a total of 82 refugees arrive on the island, according to the Ministry of Migration Policy, while 20 arrived on Lesvos and 5 on Chios.
Police authorities have announced that there are 5,342 asylum seekers on Lesvos and 4,205 on Chios, with 11,673 in total currently on islands in the north Aegean.
