Students occupy Aristotle University rectorate
A group of 50 students were conducting a sit-in at the Aristotle University’s rectorate on Thursday, authorities reported. The students, all allegedly members of the Students Struggle Front, were demanding the withdrawal of a 105 euro guarantee required for the rental of student rooms on campus.
According to reports, the sit-in was organized after it became known that a student from Ioannina was unable to rent a room.
Meanwhile, a 21 year-old Greek and a 25-year-old Italian were facing a prosecutor in Athens on Thursday, after being arrested late Wednesday during scuffles that broke out between hooded youths and riot police forces outside the ciapital’s National Technical University.
