Volvi: Parents keep children at home over refugees attending school
The regional director of education for Central Macedonia Panagiotis Ananiadis has called for the public prosecutor to intervene in the student abstention at an elementary school in Volvi.
Parents have decided to keep their children at home in reaction to the refugee children that attend the school in the afternoon, outside of normal teaching hours.
Mr. Ananiadis called the public prosecutor to intervene, arguing that the abstention conflicts with the law on compulsory education and that the decision was not taken by the parents and guardians association.
