ELSTAT: Industrial production reduced by 0.3% in August
The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest figures on the production index in industry (IPI) and found that in August 2016 it retreated by 0.3%, compared to August 2015. The IPI’s annual rate of change in August 2015 was 4.2%.
In the 8-month period between January and August 2016, according to working day adjusted data, the average rate of change of the IPI was 2.0%. In August 2015, the corresponding average rate of change of the IPI was 0.3%.
The seasonally adjusted Production Index in Industry (IPI), after eliminating the monthly effects (e.g. holidays, tourist period etc), in August 2016 compared with July 2016 recorded an increase of 0.4%.
