Ieronymos: Ship is sinking at parliament session (photo)
‘Our houses are ablaze and we are singing. The ship is sinking and is taking us all down with it’, said the head of the Greek Church during his meeting with the President of the Greek Parliament, Monday morning on occasion of the sanctification of the national assembly’s opening session.
Archbishop Ieronymos II met with Nkios Voutsis at the latter’s office, before the traditional sanctification and called for less bitterness and refraining from any hasty steps. Responding to the statements Voutsis underlined that all were on the same branch of a tree with deep routes, adding that the Greek children should not live with lower expectations’. The Greek Church leader replied with by wishing ‘prudence’ a clear spike against Education Minister Nikos Filis.
