Voutsis rules out snap polls
Parliament speaker Nikos Voutsis on Tuesday ruled out early elections saying that speculation of snap polls was driven by vested interests.
“We are not treating elections as a hobby,” Voutsis told state broadcaster ERT on Tuesday. “We are working so that we can have an election in 2019,” he said.
Voutsis suggested that calls by the conservative opposition for early elections are made in an effort to defend the privileges of private interests. He did not specify.
