Firefighter called out to tackle house fire and finds own mother dead
An 82-year-old woman in Kalavryta was found dead in her kitchen, after a fire broke out on Wednesday. Tragically, one of the firefighters called out to tackle the fire was her son.
Upon arrival at the two-story house in Kalavryta, the firefighters found the 82-year-old unconscious and rushed her to the local hospital, where she was unfortunately declared dead.
The Fire Brigade has launched an investigation into the fire, but it is believed that a gas cooker may have been responsible.
