Blaze destroys buildings in Lefkada old town
A fire in the old city of Lefkada heavily damaged ten 19th century buildings and destroyed the town’s landmark Apollon cinema theater, authorities said. The fire broke out on Monday afternoon on the Ionian island’s Palia Poli district. The cause of the blaze remained unclear on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, two wildfires broke out early on Tuesday in Karystos and Kimi, both on Evia, the fire service reported.
