Deflation continues in Greece for 41st straight month in July 2016
A deflationary trend was recorded in Greece for a 41st straight month in July 2016, according to figures released on Monday by the semi-autonomous statistical bureau (EL.STAT).
The general consumer index fell by 1 percent, yoy, in July 2016. The same figure for July 2015 was -2.2 percent, whereas in June 2016 the deflation rate was -1.3 percent.
Between August 2015 and July 2016 the inflation rate fell by 1 percent; the same figure for 2014-15 was 1.9 percent.
