Turkish Foreign Minister Cavucoglu demands immediate extradition of 8 coup-supporters from Greece

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has demanded the extradition of eight military personnel who landed in the northern Greek city of Alexandroupoli, Saturday just after 11am. Turkish media report that Cavusoglu said ‘Ankara demands the extradition of the eight coup supporters who landed at Alexandroupoli in Greece’. Two majors, one captain and five soldiers were on board a Turkish military helicopter that entered into Greek airspace requesting emergency permission to land. After being led to the local police station of Alexandroupoli they officially submitted a request for political asylum from Greek authorities. Turkish newspaper ‘Daily Sabah’ reports that the Greece was wiling to cooperate with Turkey and do whatever is needed to resolve the matter. Meanwhile, Greek spokesperson Olga Gerovasili told earlier that Greece was in contact with Turkey over the matter and all the legal steps provided under international would be taken.
