Portugal Euro2016 champions after beating France 1-0

Portugal have been crowned European football champions for the first time in their history at the Euro2016, after defeating France 1-0 in Paris in the final, Sunday night. In a match where that saw Portugal lose their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after just 23 minutes of play due to a knee injury and France hit the post in the dying seconds of regular time, the Portuguese forced the match into extra time and clinched the title with a goal by substitute Eder in the 109th minute.
