Xeni Dimitriou appointed as new Supreme Court Prosecutor

The Deputy Public Prosecutor Xeni Dimitriou has been tipped to succeed the outgoing Supreme Court Prosecutor Efterpi Koutzamani. Mrs. Koutzamani, who was the first female Public Prosecutor, served in the Supreme Court for about 40 years.

The new Supreme Court Prosecutor – who was selected by the government – has handled many important cases in her career, the latest being the trial of former Finance Minister Giorgos Papakonstantinou.
