Family member identified as mastermind behind Pulido abduction
The abduction of Olympiacos striker Alan Pulido appears to have been orchestrated by 29-year-old Osvaldo Velázquez García, who is married to a cousin of the player.
Mexican authorities announced the arrest of the 29-year-old man, who has previously been involved in drug trafficking and extortion with a criminal organization operating in the area. When federal police attempted to arrest the suspect at his house, several shots were fired.
Four of the men who kidnapped the football player have identified García as the mastermind behind the abduction. According to Mexican media reports, García was present at the party with Pulido, before the player was abducted.
