Speaking at a business forum in Athens on Monday, Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis said that the government’s aims to pay off its arrears, which currently stand close to 7 billion euros, over the next 12 months.

Stathakis was also upbeat on the economy’s prospects as the first bailout review nears its completion.

“The conclusion of the first review also means that a cycle that began last summer is coming to its end,” he said. “We managed to complete the process with the beginning of the discussion on debt relief.”
