Police have found the body of 60-year old man in the region of Boeotia in central Greece, after he had been reported missing by his wife. The man’s body was tied up with a sack of rocks strapped to his back. It was found by police when it washed up in the Mornos Channel. The man’s wife had informed police that her husband was being held for ransom. She then arranged to pay off the money to the abductors at an area near the Elefsina road tolls without informing authorities. The meeting was completed when two hooded men with rifles showed up at the drop off point, took the money and fled. Homicide is conducting an investigation.
