The Greek Police said on Monday that they had smashed a large international drug trafficking racket following the arrest of 15 suspected members and the confiscation of nearly 700 kilograms of cannabis.

The arrests were carried out following raids in different parts of the country which also led to officials seizing several cars and a speedboat which they gang members are believed to have used to transfer the narcotics.

According to police sources, the racket smuggled drugs into Greece before transferring the bulk to countries in Western Europe.
