Investigation into “Panagia Tinou” incident launched
Divers will examine the hull of the Panagia Tinou ferry boat, which took in water on Tuesday, causing it to tilt 40 degrees. The aim is to discover where the hull has breached, in order to patch it up and begin pumping out water from the ship.
Although divers tried to inspect the hull on Tuesday, the visibility in the port was extremely limited and it is believed that the ferry boat has run aground. Meanwhile floating anti-pollution barriers have been set up, as there appears to be some fuel in the ferry boat that could potentially leak out into the sea.
