ID Card & passport names to change type
The way in which a person’s name appears on their ID card or passport will become simpler, after the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction decided it will be written only in one form of latin characters, instead of twice, one under the LOT 473 type and another of the choice of the person concerning.
The change was decided after the Independent Authority of the Ombudsman warned back in 2003 the twin character typing on the cards would cause confusion.
This means the latin type will appear in only one type, either bases on the LOT473 type, or the choice of the concerned person.
