Angelina Jolie promises locals to support Lesvos by coming in summer with her family

On her final stop in Greece on the island of Lesvos, in the eastern Aegean, Angelina Jolie said she would visit the island with her family next summer to help boost tourism. The Hollywood actress visited Greece in her capacity as UNHR Goodwill ambassador on refugees and before flying off to London she visited the island of Lesvos, which is one of the refugee hot spots bearing the brunt of the refugee flows crossing into the EU. Jolie met with the refugees on the island, locals, authorities and NGOs and was briefed on the situation on the island and their initiatives. Speaking at the building of the General Secretariat of Aegean and Island Policy she expressed hope that the plight of the refugees would end soon.
