Return of institutions to Athens to be determined on Monday
The much-debated return of the institutions to Athens, in order to continue negotiations over the Greek bailout review, is going to be determined on “Super Monday”, the 7th of March, when a Eurogroup and EU summit are scheduled to take place.
According to sources that spoke to To Vima, Greece’s creditors appear to finally be reaching a consensus on the budget gap. A government source told To Vima on Wednesday that the IMF’s position is ‘honest’, in that it does not believe that the Greek program can be implemented, since the debt is not sustainable as is.
This is in contrast to Greece’s European partners, who argue that the implementation of structural reforms and further budget cuts are key aspects of the program.
