Police officers involved in pimping and drink smuggling gang
The police announced the arrest of three men aged 46, 50 and 65 as well as a police guard based in Attica for their involvement in smuggling alcoholic drinks and pimping women.
According to the report, a police lieutenant and to other people – whose details are as yet unknown – are also involved in the criminal organization.
The 50-year-old is believed to have been a leading figure within the gang and collected the money generated from selling the contraband alcohol. Along with two other unidentified suspects he pimped women in Attica and Halkida.
The 65-year-old was arrested for pimping the foreign women who worked in the bar he operated in Halkida and was actively involved in the drinks smuggling with 50- and 60-year-old suspects.
The police guard was aware of the gang’s, operations and in at least one instance he was involved in the sale of the smuggled drinks. The guard was also appointed in the same station with the police lieutenant, as telephone records show that they discussed the illegal activities.
