A report shows the worst economic year for Greeks was 2015
The number of families living below the poverty threshold increased in 20015 by 8%, while in 2014 it was decreased by 7.1%, based on the annual report released by the Governor of the Bank of Greece.
From 2010 to 2013 the poverty index:
– decreased by 0.4% in 2010
– decreased by 2.8% in 2011
– remained unchanged in 2012
– increased by 1.5% in 2013
The report also recorded a decrease of 4.2% in 2010 and 6.9% in 2011 of household income, while in 2014 was the first year to record an increase of income by 1.2%. As for 2015, fiscal measures led to a further reduction of 0.3%.
