Apostolou: The farmers will benefit from our proposals
The Minister of Agricultural Development Evangelos Apostolou has argued that the recent proposals made by the government will, in fact, benefit farmers rather than further burden them and attributed the farmer reactions to misinformation.
In a Wednesday morning appearance on Mega Channel, Mr. Apostolou explained that farmers earning less than 12,000 a year – which represent the mass majority – will pay fewer taxes than previously.
Additionally, Mr. Apostolou called farmers to be more understanding of the fact that the Greek government has signed a series of agreements that it must fulfill.
