Grandi will visit Lesvos to meet with the local authorities, the Coast Guard, EU agencies, NGOs and volunteer groups.
He is then scheduled to visit Athens, where he will meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, and ministers dealing with the refugee crisis.
Grandi will also visit refugee hosting areas and apartments which have been included in the EU and UNHCR renting programme.
A press conference will concluded his trip to Greece on Wednesday, at the offices of the Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers.
The High Commissioner will be accompanied by Vincent Cochetel, UNHCR Regional Office Director for Europe and Regional Coordinator for the refugee crisis.
