8 out of 10 self-employed declared an income under 15,000 euros
The Ministry of Finances published information and statistics on income statements and found that about eight out of ten self-employed declare an income under 15,000 euros last year. Additionally, the statistics show that 3 out of 5 declared an income up to 5,000 euros, while only 67 declared an income over 500,000 euros.
According to the Finance Ministry, the country’s 8,516,953 taxpayers declared a total income of 73.93 billion euros, with 32 billion being from salaries and 24.6 being from pensions. About 5.94 billion euros was income from real estate and 4.14 billion euros from investment activities.
The self-employed declared incomes totaled 4.8 billion euros, which includes the 1.3 billion euros declared by farmers and 796 million euros from seamen.
