Guards at ancient sites and museums will go on a three-hour warning work stoppage on Friday, from 08.00 to 11.00, to highlight “urgent issues that need immediate solutions”, their union PEYFA said on Monday.

The guards released a list of demands that include the immediate hiring of 200 guards announced in 2016, issues relating to qualifications for managerial positions, and a single schedule for all sites and museums in Greece.

PEYFA warned it would “continue and intensify its mobilisations on these and other issues,” and called on its members to “be prepared.”
