The winter sales are to start on Monday, January 14 and run until Thursday, February 28, the Athens Trade Association announced on Monday.

The association clarified that, during the sales period, the price before and after the discount must be clearly displayed upon the items on sale, while retailers can also indicate the percentage discount.

Additionally, the stores can open on January 20, the first Sunday of the sales period, with the recommended working hours 11:00 to 18:00, while on Monday, January 21, the association proposes that shops open at noon instead of 09:00 since customer turnout on the Mondays after Sunday opening has been observed to be virtually nil.
