Extensive power cuts in many areas of Attica

Excessive power cuts are taking place since around 14:00′ in Attica, Greece.

According to the first information, there have been explosions at PPC substations in Pallini.

At this time, line 2 of the Athens Metro (Anthoupoli-Ellinikon) is out of operation from the University station to Elliniko station. Problems have also been recorded in line 3 and the tram network.

At the same time, there are traffic jams on the streets as dozens of traffic lights on main roads are also out of order, while in the very first minutes of the power cut, the Fire Department received 90 calls from people locked in elevators.

The center of Athens and many other areas of Glyfada, Zografou, Melissia, Psichiko, Chalandri, Pallini, Kifissia, Pikermi, Dafni, Kessariani, Pagrati have been left without electricity.
