Wildfire Threatens Village in Ilia, Greece

Fire fighters are battling a fire that broke out at a forest in the Ilia prefecture in Peloponnese on Sunday night.
The fire, that spread quickly because of strong winds, had earlier threatened homes in the villages if Skylountia and Frixa.
The Fire Department asked for inhabitants to evacuate the homes as firefighters were trying to keep the fire out of the villages.
According to the Fire Department, the intensity of the winds has decreased, which helps the work of the firefighters.
46 firefighters with 23 vehicles and municipal authorities are involved in the battle to extinguish the fires.
