Hellenic Lotteries, an OPAP Group company, and Olympiacos BC presented on Monday 2 October 2017, the sponsorship cooperation for the 2017-2018 season. SCRATCH will be the major sponsor of Olympiacos BC and its logo will feature on all the official jerseys of the club.

The sponsorship agreement between OPAP, the leading group in the Greek games of chance industry, and Olympiacos BC has run for six years already, and is one of the longest partnerships in Greek sport.

During the presentation that took place at the company-owned Headquarters, OPAP CEO, Damian Cope, stated: “Throughout these years, OPAP and Olympiacos have built a strong and successful partnership based on shared values and joint actions on the sporting and social level. It is the extension of this collaboration that we are here to present today, looking forward to greater achievements this season. SCRATCH is one of OPAP’s most fun and popular games. In the past three years, SCRATCH has “travelled” with Olympiacos’ shirt across Greece and Europe. In fact, in two out of these three years, Olympiacos made it to the Euroleague Final Four.  This is why we often say that SCRATCH is a “lucky charm” for the team. In these years, Olympiacos has played many memorable games, which have offered plenty of excitement, giving fans reasons to “live the game”, as we say at OPAP. We are delighted to stand alongside Olympiacos for yet another season; and we would like to wish the club, its coaching staff, players and fans good luck for what is expected to be another exciting season, both at home and in Europe”.

The General Manager of Olympiacos BC, Christos Stavropoulos, stressed: “It is clear that this collaboration identifies with Olympiacos’ success in Greece and Europe. For Olympiacos, long-term partnerships with companies and organizations that have the dynamic and size of OPAP Group, are a strategic choice and a one-way street. At the same time, each year, our joint actions on all levels, namely marketing, strategy, corporate responsibility and active participation of fans and young children, are continuously strengthened, capturing the interest of the fans. We surely have a lot more to create and achieve together, in a really difficult environment, and we hope that we too will contribute in the implementation of OPAP’s 2020 Vision, and continuing this cooperation to 2020, and even further.

Team coach, Yannis Sferopoulos, mentioned: “It is very important that this cooperation has continued for seven years. SCRATCH has really brought us a lot of luck and in recent years we have had great success. I hope we continue this cooperation, through which both of us show our social side, in addition to sporting ideals. Both OPAP and Olympiacos are very interested in the social aspect”.

On his part, club captain Vasilis Spanoulis, said: “There are two things we have in common that tie us to OPAP. The first one is that we are both champions, and the second is our social contribution. I wish that we continue to work together in the coming years and bring success. ”

The event was attended by Olympiacos BC owners, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, the vice – President of Olympiacos BC Giorgos Skindilias, the Commercial Director of Olympiacos BC Nikos Lepeniotis, as well as all the team players and coaching staff.
