German Woman Married to Greek Becomes 16th Victim of Barcelona Attack
The number of people killed in twin vehicle attacks in Spain last week rose to 16 on Sunday, when a German woman married to a Greek man died according to local authorities in Barcelona said.
The woman died after a man believed to be connected to ISIS ploughed a van through Las Ramblas a street predominantly used by only pedestrians and flooded with tourists every year. She was unable to survive the injuries she incurred from the attack.
“This morning a 51-year-old German woman died after being treated in a critical condition in hospital,” said a statement from the region’s civil defence.
