OPAP stands by the Federation of Greek Wheelchair Basketball Players Associations (OSEKA)
OPAP announces the commencementof its sponsorship cooperation with the Federation of Greek Wheelchair Basketball Players Associations (OSEKA), confirming its support to Greek sports in practice,through significant investment and actions on every level.
The sponsorship cooperation with OSEKA aims at promoting and supporting the sport and includes all the activities of the Federation. Indicatively, the Panhellenic Championship and athletes’ participation in the national team to represent Greece at international events are included. At the same time, through its partnership with OPAP,OSEKA will be able tocontinue its operation unimpeded, plan the upgrading of the sport, expand its activities, approach more sport associations and support a largernumber of athletes.
OSEKA is a member of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF), which is partof the Fédération Internationale de Basketball Amateur (FIBA). Twenty two clubs and 222 athletes participate in the Panhellenic Championship of the A’ National Division and the Hellenic Cup which are organized by OSEKA. The Federation has already organized 20 Panhellenic Championship and 17 Hellenic Cup competitions. The Wheelchair Basketball Referees’ Association, which has 80 members, also falls under its umbrella.
OPAP and OSEKA will stand by the nationalteam’sside which willparticipatein the European Tournament thatwill be held late Julyin the Czech Republic. It is noted that Greek basketball greatNikos Galis,as well as Giannis and Thanassis Antetokounmpo are among the ambassadors and supporters of wheelchair basketball players.
OPAP Chief Customer Officer Petr Matejovsky stated: “OPAP is very proud to commencethis significant cooperation with the Federation of Greek Wheelchair Basketball Players Associations. OPAP has proved in practice that it is an active cell of Greek sport and society. We all aim at providing the best possible support in order to contribute to the development of the sport in every way”.
OSEKA president Christos Kaloudis stressed: “When organizations with the dynamism, scopeand,most importantly,the sensitively of OPAP offer their support, then even more power is gained in order for Greek wheelchair basketball to carry outits social and athletic role”.
