Euroworking Group meeting to focus on restart of negotiations on second review
The restart of the negotiations between Athens and the institutions on the completion of the second review of the Greek programme before 26th January’s Eurogroup will dominate the Euroworking Group that will convene in Brussels.
Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos will meet in Paris on Wednesday with his French counterpart Michel Sapin and on Thursday with European Commissioner Pierre Moscovici in Brussels.
Meanwhile, the European Commission reiterated that remains committed to the completion of the review noting that it depends on all involving sides.
Eurozone sources estimated that if Athens proceeds with the immediate implementation of the prior actions then the conclusion of the second review would be feasible in February.
The boards of EFSF and ESM are expected to convene in January to give the green light for the implementation of the short term measures for the Greek debt decided at the Eurogroup meeting on December 5.
