Retired officer confesses to killing gym owner
A retired police officer was being questioned by investigators over the weekend after reportedly turning himself in to police headquarters in central Athens on Saturday and confessing to killing a gym owner on Panormou Street in the Ambelokipi suburb on Friday night.
Authorities said that the 60-year-old also surrendered the gun he said he used to shot 68-year-old businessman following a violent altercation between the two.
Investigators did not immediately release any details as to why the retired police officer acted as he did.
