Bomb alert at Deposits and Loans Fund in Athens
Police were investigating an anonymous phone call made early on Friday warning that a bomb had been placed at the Deposits and Loans Fund located on Akadimias Street in central Athens.
According to initial reports an unidentified caller, who claimed to be a member of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire guerilla group, contacted the Efimerida ton Syntakton daily a little after 8 a.m. saying the device would explode between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. The man claimed the bomb had been placed in protest to foreclosures.
Police specialists were investigating the area on Thursday morning.
