PNO announces 48-hour strike for 22 and 23 September
The executive committee of the nationwide seamen federation PNO has announced a 48-hour strike that will come into effect at 6am on Thursday 22 September and will last until 6am on Saturday 24 September.
According to the statement issued by PNO, the strike comes in response to the actions of the authorities and employers, which are violating the worker rights of seamen. The federation spoke of “grim and unfavorable” conditions on the ferry services, underlining that seamen are working long hours in violation of international treaties.
