Greek Education Minister Nikos Filis reinstates ‘eternal student’ status in universities!
Greek Education Minister Nikos Filis submitted an amendment late Tuesday in parliament forbidding tertiary institutions from disqualifying students from continuing their studies even if they fail to register for two semesters running. His new amendment essentially brings in the old status of ‘eternal students’, which had been scrapped with a past legislation drafted by Anna Diamantopoulou during PASOK’s rule. The new amendment also opens the discussion about private tertiary institutions.
