ELSTAT: 0.9% GDP recession during first half of 2016
The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its provisional tables and figures on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the second quarter of 2016.
According to ELSTAT’s figures, there was a 0.9% rate of recession in the second quarter, followed by a 1% rate of recession in the first quarter. Initial predictions suggested a 0.7% and 0.8% rate respectively.
On a quarterly basis, the estimated rate of growth amounted to 0.2%, compared to an 0.3% rate in the initial predictions.
