“Ancient Greece and the Modern World” con’f in Olympia this month
“Ancient Greece and the Modern World” is the focus of a wide-ranging conference being organized at the International Olympic Academy at the ancient Olympia archaeological site from Aug 28 to Aug 31.
The conference, which is held under the auspices of the Greek presidency of the republic, aims to broach the abstract issue of whether ancient Greek civilization can provide answers to contemporary scientific questions – and even the current “crisis in values”, as many social commentators refer to the present state of affairs.
Some 180 distinguished academics from around the world and representing practically all scientific disciplines will be in attendance.
